Making Disciples of All Nations

What Is a People Group?

What is a people group? According to the organization People Groups, a people group refers to a community that shares a common sense of self-identity among its members, shaped by factors such as language, ethnicity, history and traditions.[1]

Understanding people groups is crucial for GFA World to connect with individuals and communities who have yet to receive the Good News. Most groups yet to be reached reside within the 10/40 window, an area that spans from West Africa to East Asia.[2] These people will not hear about the life-changing message of Jesus Christ unless someone shares it with them, a role that GFA-supported missionaries are able to fulfill.

Since GFA-supported missionaries are native to the regions they serve, they can effectively spread the hope of God’s love due to their familiarity with the local language and culture. Despite facing various obstacles, such as scarce resources and opposition, these missionaries are able to establish meaningful connections and relationships with those in the remote villages where they minister. They seek always to convey the message that the people in their communities are seen and cherished by a loving God. Nobody has forgotten about them.

GFA World trains and deploys missionaries to the mission field and supports them in their work.[3] Currently, hundreds of students are undergoing training at dozens of our Bible colleges in the countries we serve, preparing to share the message of hope with communities in their regions.

There’s much work to be done as people continue to pass away without ever encountering or being aware of the Good News message. We aim to prevent this by seeking assistance for GFA-supported missionaries. You can help a GFA-sponsored missionary with a monthly donation of $45 or more.[4] Your contributions help enable them to connect with communities that have yet to receive the Good News. Support for GFA-backed missionaries helps ensure that individuals can embrace and engage with the Good News.

The crops are abundant, but there aren’t enough workers to tend to them all. We kindly ask for your support in sending individuals to the field of missions to connect with those who have yet to be reached. Your partnership will impact lives for eternity.
