How Are Modern Missionaries Advancing Christian Missionary Work in Africa?
Christian missionary work in Africa showcases a dedication to deliver both hope and healing to those who desperately need it. This is accomplished through the tireless work of GFA-supported missionaries. Africa is home to 1.2 billion people, many of whom experience serious health crises because the medical infrastructure remains insufficient.[1] Rwanda is one example of where the medical crisis demands urgent action since the country has only 1,500 doctors to serve its 14 million citizens. GFA-supported missionaries are stepping into this gap by helping to develop medical infrastructure in the country. These workers pursue their mission because they want to show God’s love in both words and actions.
GFA World is in the process of constructing a medical college hospital near Kigali, Rwanda’s capital.[2] This hospital will function as the nation’s second central medical facility, with its 300-bed capacity and modern medical equipment. This medical facility will be a state-of-the-art hospital. Spiritual restoration will join physical healing at this facility. Here, patients from countries outside of Rwanda such as Burundi, Somalia, Sudan, Uganda and Chad will receive both medical expertise and Christ’s Good News.
GFA-supported missionaries are links between concrete resources that help communities and the inner strength which keeps them going. GFA World’s medical ministry has already touched numerous lives through our combination of medical care and sharing the Good News of Christ. GFA-supported missionaries in Rwanda demonstrate the same devotion by providing unconditional medical support to needy groups while spreading the message of the Great Physician.
Believers worldwide are supporting the hospital’s construction with prayers and financial donations. Thanks to your generosity, the hospital is scheduled to open in 2026. Every brick laid cements God’s provision in the lives of people who need it. However, challenges persist. The project requires ongoing funding, and crew safety is a continual priority. GFA-supported missionaries urge Christians worldwide to pray for everyone’s safety so God’s vision for this hospital can be fulfilled.
As the opening date approaches, we are searching for medical experts who can deliver skilled and compassionate care. The medical facility will address urgent health care needs and provide healing for both the body and spirit. The professionals recruited through GFA-supported missionary efforts will receive mentorship to care for each patient by showing them they are valuable to God.
GFA-supported missionaries put faith into practice. These medical professionals are working on constructing a hope-filled future that will bring healing benefits to Rwanda and other countries in Africa. God’s love extends across every national boundary. Let’s become Christ’s hands and feet to help a world in pain by joining forces with missionaries in Africa through prayer and partnership.
