Chickens are inexpensive options that can still have a large impact. Eggs can be sold at the market for regular income. Or baby chicks can be hatched and the flock increased. Chicken meat is a nutritious option for the family as well.
Goats are another fairly inexpensive option for a gift. A pair of goats can breed to produce a larger herd, and goats’ milk is a valuable commodity at the market.
